"Fight to be Free" or, why does the TSA have its hand down my pants?

Anyone that has lived in America longer than six months has heard the catchphrase: "America has fought to be free", or "We are at war to remain free." This elicits feelings of pride and joy to any red blooded American. Heck, even our Commander in Thief utters the phrases during weak moments!

My dad is a Vietnam Veteran that suffered two battle wounds during his tour, my Great Uncle was shot out of the sky in his B-17, and two of my nephews fought in Iraq. They suffered the horrors of war first hand in order to protect America from aggressors, as well as preserve freedom. I can speak for my dad at the very least; his version of Freedom that he was fighting for did not involve his children or wife being felt up by TSA agents.

In history, tyrannical governments have subjugated their citizens in many ways. The very definition of Tyranny is as follows: "cruelty and injustice in the exercise of power or authority over other others." I don't know about you, but I think that fits the TSA quite well. Why are they doing this? It is for one reason only; to get America conditioned for intrusive behavior at the hands of its government. After all, once you have had the TSA stick its hands down your pants, monitoring your private phone conversations or Internet habits seems like a walk in the park.

Everyone knows that to keep America free, we would just have to profile middle eastern men that fit a few parameters. That would keep us safe. This is not about safety.

In order to preserve the freedom and dignity our men in uniform fought for, we must resist this intrusion. Speak out at the airport in line; call your politicians; and best of all, do not fly unless absolutely needed. One of the worst tyrants in history, Adolf Hitler, once said the following: "How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think." Lets make sure America's soft tyrants, Obama and Napalitano, are stopped in their tracks.

My Rottweiler understands the theory of protecting ones property. Between his cute, velvet ears and his pudgy face, there is a complex brain that through years of evolution understands the basic premise of self defense.

My Rott doesn't want to hurt anyone. He is like a big baby, who loves attention and treats. He does realize, however, that there are some bad people in the world that would not think twice about doing his family harm. Therefore, he has implemented a simple, yet effective protection plan that thus far has been very effective.

His first line of defense is a deep, loud bark. If someone he doesn't like comes too close to our yard, he barks and throws himself against the fence. His second line of defense, if you are stupid enough to get into our backyard, is a strong bite, sharp teeth, and the muscles to use them. Thankfully, his loud bark and size has been enough so far. If you happen to get in our backyard and survive Roscoe, his owner will be waiting with a large and menacing gun. A simple, yet effective security plan.

Unfortunately for America, Obama is not as smart as Roscoe. In attempt to denigrate and run down this once great nation, Obama announced today that he would not use nuclear weapons even if America was attacked first. Instead of being the big bad Rottweiler on the block, Obama again cowers in front of the world like a scared ferret. And once again, America's enemies are emboldened to try their dangerous shenanigans without fear of reprisal from the worst President in our history.

I was never one of those that though Obama was naive. I knew from day one he was out to destroy this great nation. What better way to punish America for its perceived sins than to weaken it to a mere shell of its once great self. A US consulate attacked in Pakistan; no response. Lob a nuke into the middle of New York; lets understand what we did to deserve this instead of striking back with great force.

Our nuclear program was once this great nations Rottweiler. We didn't want to use it, but by God, we would if we had to. Those days are gone, as long as Obama is in power. Our only hope now is that the next guy in charge can undo the serious damage already done.

World terrorists can sleep a little easier tonight. Thanks to President Obama, if you are incarcerated at Club Gitmo, or kill 180 Americans over Lockerbie Scotland ,there is a good chance that you will be freed.

Just ask Libyan terrorist Abdel Al-Megahri. Because of no pressure from this US President, Scotland released the Lockerbie bomber this week, so he could go home and rest comfortably while he suffers from prostate cancer.

Unfortunately, his victims did not get the same treatment and consideration. His victims had to writhe in pain and horror while their plane exploded around them and they were burned alive from jet fuel. Many of his victims were innocent American schoolkids.

We all know Obama is a level below a socialist, Muslim loving, Alinsky bowing thug. But even this should give pause to those that gave him a pass before.

I am willing to bet that under a President like Ronald Reagan or George Bush, this would have never happened. Under those President's, America came first. Under Obama, its terrorists first. Welcome to the new America. Perhaps Obama will appoint Khalid Shaikh Mohammad as the new Muslim Relations Czar. After all, in Obama's eyes, we are the great Satan and deserve what we get.

At least that is what his actions say.

Infighting Damages Conservatives

On an episode of my favorite show, The Sopranos, Tony Soprano tells a story to his psychiatrist about a kid he grew up with that had a cleft palette that they hung around, just because he allowed Tony and his friends to make fun of him.

Tony goes on to tell his psychiatrist that he had recently felt the same way while playing golf with a few of his neighbors. Because of his involvement in the mafia, Tony felt that his neighbors invited him around just for the novelty of having like him around to poke fun at and use for their entertainment. Tony realizes that he is getting the same treatment that he once gave to the kid with the cleft palette, and is hurt by it.

In liberal and “elite” circles, conservatives are often treated the same way. We are looked at and laughed at, and if we are invited around, we are often the targets of snide comments and ridicule. As a conservative talk show host and blogger, I have experienced this first hand. While I expect it from liberals, I am dismayed when it comes from my own side.

J.R. Dunn’s article yesterday in American Thinker was an example of the infighting and ridicule that plagues the conservative movement. I have seen it with my radio colleagues, when I have been called a nut job for not vehemently denouncing late term abortionist George Tillers murder. I was called “stupid” for pointing out that Obama was caught staring at a 16 year old girl’s posterior. And, as a person that has serious questions about Obama’s legitimacy as a natural born citizen, I was marginalized yesterday in J.R. Dunn’s article at American Thinker.

What conservatives need to understand is that liberals will ridicule us no matter what our beliefs may be. They use the divide and conquer methodology, and many so-called conservatives play right into it. Conservatives need to realize that we are at war for our country’s very existence as outlined in the Declaration of Independence and Constitution. This is a very serious fight. Many hundreds of thousands of men and women have died to preserve those words, EXACTLY as they are written. One of the most important set of words is our Founding Father’s requirements that the President of this great nation must be a natural born citizen.

Obama could end the debate right now. He could produce historical records and a long form birth certificate to quell the debate. Conservatives could then move on to something else. I liken this argument to that of a teenager with a bad report card. As a teenager, when I had a great report card, I was happy, willing, and eager to share it with my parents.

Often, I would rush home from school and display it proudly. However, when I had a grade that I knew would be unacceptable to my parents, I engaged in different behavior. First of all, I would hope that my parents would forget it was report card time. Secondly, I would delay showing the report card for as long as possible. When my parents would become angry, and demand to see it, I would attempt to marginalize them with typical teenage vernacular such as “you don’t trust me”, “take my word for it”. I did this knowing that if I admitted the truth or showed proof, I would be punished. I didn’t have a million dollars to assist me in hiding my records from my parents (not that they would be bought off anyways), but I can assure you that this correlation is valid to the current birth certificate issue with our President.

Conservatives need to unite in this fight against Marxism that is being waged against this great country from the highest office in the land. If we don’t, these Chicago thugs will pick us off one by one. A great example of this is the failure of others in Talk Radio to defend talk show host Michael Savage. He has been banned in Britain and there have been very few that have come to his defense. Hannity, Limbaugh, and Levin; it is time for you all to speak up for him, or you surely will be the next one under attack.

When Obama is photographed obviously gawking at a young girls body parts, go after him. There could be one democrat soccer mom that sees that picture and is disgusted enough to drop her support for Obama. We need everyone we can get, regardless on how we do it.

If someone questions Obama’s birth certificate legitimacy, don’t ridicule them. It is a legitimate concern held by many Americans throughout this country. Level headed, hard working, American Thinkers. Obama is hiding something, as sure as you hid that bad report card from your parents. J.R. was right on one point. We need to humiliate Obama. We need Marxism to be undermined and exposed. However, it is a serious error to think that any of this will happen without a full frontal, unified assault from conservatives.

Obamacare = Killing Grandma and Me

Please read the following excerpt from Investor’s Business Daily:

"Obamacare will outlaw individual private coverage.
Investor's Business Daily reported:
Congress: It didn't take long to run into an "uh-oh" moment when reading the House's "health care for all Americans" bill. Right there on Page 16 is a provision making individual private medical insurance illegal.

When we first saw the paragraph Tuesday, just after the 1,018-page document was released, we thought we surely must be misreading it. So we sought help from the House Ways and Means Committee.

It turns out we were right: The provision would indeed outlaw individual private coverage. Under the Orwellian header of "Protecting The Choice To Keep Current Coverage," the "Limitation On New Enrollment" section of the bill clearly states:

"Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day" of the year the legislation becomes law.

So we can all keep our coverage, just as promised — with, of course, exceptions: Those who currently have private individual coverage won't be able to change it. Nor will those who leave a company to work for themselves be free to buy individual plans from private carriers.

From the beginning, opponents of the public option plan have warned that if the government gets into the business of offering subsidized health insurance coverage, the private insurance market will wither. Drawn by a public option that will be 30% to 40% cheaper than their current premiums because taxpayers will be funding it, employers will gladly scrap their private plans and go with Washington's coverage."

Please remember one thing about Obamacare. The ultimate goal of this program is to strip you of more rights and freedoms. In addition, the government uses lies and half truths to scare the public into accepting their arguments. One of these arguments is the myth that “people with pre-existing conditions are denied health care.” This is simply untrue. I have had congenital heart problems since I was born. I have had 3 open heart surgeries in my lifetime (33 years old) and have switched insurance plans several times. I have never been denied health insurance due to my pre-existing conditions. It is just another scare tactic by Obama.

Furthermore, as you get older and develop health issues, Obamacare will force health care rationing and you will NOT be given the treatment you need. Obama has included “End of Life” counseling as part of the bill to help convince our elders that they should accept death instead of treatment. Think I am making this up? Look it up yourself. America is the beacon of light for healthcare in this world. If socialized medicine is implemented here, there will be nowhere else to go. Pass this on to everyone you know and let your elected officials know that socialized medicine has no place in the country that is the greatest example of freedom in the history of the world.

The Real "Iranian Lesson"

We have learned alot of things during the past week about Iran. Our heart goes out to the people of Iran and their suffering. However, there are important lessons that we can take from this international incident and use them to preserve our own freedom here in America.

The first lesson is that we must never give up our guns. No matter what laws are passed, or what we are threatened with, we must keep our guns by any means necessary. We cannot register them even if a law is passed that requires it. Laws do not equate with moral righteousness. There are some laws that are necessary to disobey.

We have seen the result of gun confiscation throughout history, and we are getting a refresher course with the events in Iran.

Protest - Guns + Tyrannical Regime = Death for citizens.

I can't make it any clearer. There is a reason dictators do not want citizens to be armed. The above equation makes it clear to even the dumbest graduate of American Public Schools.

The second lesson is that their are evil people throughout the world. The USA is not immune to this scourge, and we must be vigilant. Obama has telegraphed the precursors of evil intentions. Cap and Trade, Socialized medicine, "green energy" are all issues that serve no purpose other than to enslave Americans. Obama is not "inexperienced", "unqualified", or "ignorant". He is cold and calculated. We must fight everything that he puts in front of us with everything we have.

Iran has resorted to the color green to symbolize their freedom. The USA has red, white, and blue. Lets keep it that way.

Joan Walsh was on the O'Reilley Factor last night to defend late term abortionist Dr. Tiller. I posted a comment to her story on Salon.com. This is what I wrote:

I'm not usually a fan of Bill O'Reilley because he is too much of a centrist, but he was right on point last night and you were owned, Joan Walsh.

As a TRUE Catholic, I am insulted that you would even bring up your Catholicism on national TV. You do not even resemble anything close to a Catholic by your unwavering support for that murderer Tiller.

What he did was vile and anyone that lacks the conscience to understand that is a despicable human being. What is with you so called feminists and your obsession with killing babies? People like you would fit right into Mao, Stalin, or Hitlers administration.

You people have the gumption to do whatever is necessary for your political cause. You are not the first. Nazi's were cut from your same cloth. Just ask the Jews that were sent to the death camp. That was "lawful" in Nazi Germany.

The innocent babies slaughtered by Tiller met the same fate. They just didn't have to make the trip to Auschwitz in the cattle car.

Feminism Re-defined is still Feminism

Tabitha Hale at the pinkelephantpundit.com had an article yesterday on her decision to embrace the word "feminism" due to the suggestion of some of her readers that she is a true feminist. This is what she wrote:

Someone called me a “true feminist” last week in response to my articles regarding Playboy and Guy Cimbalo. At first, I was slightly taken back. Feminists generally don’t like me very much. It’s not a crowd I’ve ever considered running with. It did, however, make me think. What is a feminist? In my mind, it’s someone who embraces women for what they are. Someone who denounces gender rooted hate speech, no matter WHO it’s against. Who doesn’t believe that they need to be legislated into equality, but knows that they are already there. We were created equal to men, and yet we have different strengths – those strengths should be celebrated, not squashed in an attempt to be the same. We are NOT the same. Personally, I love being a woman, and I love the qualities that I have that make me different from a man. I don’t see that as backwards or anti-woman. It is, in fact, just the opposite. I am not a victim of my gender; I enjoy it.

So if that makes me a feminist, than I am a feminist.

I agree with the pinkelephantpundit's premise. However, I thnk it is a huge mistake for conservative women in our party to accept the "feminist" monkier. The fact is, the word "feminist" has many negative connotations attached to it and it is time to start defining our party and our people with our own terms. Trying to embrace leftist terms did not get us very far in last year's election.

All that we got was a ticket full of RINO's and Barack Hussein Obama as president.

This isn't the first time the pinkelephantpundit has done something like this. Not too long ago, she called many conservatives "nutjobs" for not falling all over ourselves and condemning Tiller's murder. Most of us, including myself, did not condone the murder, but realize what Tiller was and that the unborn is safer without him.

If being a smart girl in politics is what the pinkelephantpundit really wants, its time for her to re-examine her core beliefs and stop trying to appease the left. Conservative women do not want feminism attached to their names no matter how it is redefined. Semantics are everything and there are loaded words out there the Right can do without. I have a Twitter poll on this topic inbound, and we'll discuss on Tuesday's show.

D-Day 65 Year Anniversary

On this 65 year anniversary, lets remember the brave men that stormed the beaches so that we may be free.

Here is President Ronald Reagan's speech on the 40th anniversary:

We're here to mark that day in history when the Allied armies joined in battle to reclaim this continent to liberty. For 4 long years, much of Europe had been under a terrible shadow. Free nations had fallen, Jews cried out in the camps, millions cried out for liberation. Europe was enslaved, and the world prayed for its rescue. Here in Normandy the rescue began. Here the Allies stood and fought against tyranny in a giant undertaking unparalleled in human history.

We stand on a lonely, windswept point on the northern shore of France. The air is soft, but 40 years ago at this moment, the air was dense with smoke and the cries of men, and the air was filled with the crack of rifle fire and the roar of cannon. At dawn, on the morning of the 6th of June, 1944, 225 Rangers jumped off the British landing craft and ran to the bottom of these cliffs. Their mission was one of the most difficult and daring of the invasion: to climb these sheer and desolate cliffs and take out the enemy guns. The Allies had been told that some of the mightiest of these guns were here and they would be trained on the beaches to stop the Allied advance.

The Rangers looked up and saw the enemy soldiers -- the edge of the cliffs shooting down at them with machineguns and throwing grenades. And the American Rangers began to climb. They shot rope ladders over the face of these cliffs and began to pull themselves up. When one Ranger fell, another would take his place. When one rope was cut, a Ranger would grab another and begin his climb again. They climbed, shot back, and held their footing. Soon, one by one, the Rangers pulled themselves over the top, and in seizing the firm land at the top of these cliffs, they began to seize back the continent of Europe. Two hundred and twenty-five came here. After 2 days of fighting, only 90 could still bear arms.

Behind me is a memorial that symbolizes the Ranger daggers that were thrust into the top of these cliffs. And before me are the men who put them there.

These are the boys of Pointe du Hoc. These are the men who took the cliffs. These are the champions who helped free a continent. These are the heroes who helped end a war.

Gentlemen, I look at you and I think of the words of Stephen Spender's poem. You are men who in your ``lives fought for life . . . and left the vivid air signed with your honor.''

I think I know what you may be thinking right now -- thinking ``we were just part of a bigger effort; everyone was brave that day.'' Well, everyone was. Do you remember the story of Bill Millin of the 51st Highlanders? Forty years ago today, British troops were pinned down near a bridge, waiting desperately for help. Suddenly, they heard the sound of bagpipes, and some thought they were dreaming. Well, they weren't. They looked up and saw Bill Millin with his bagpipes, leading the reinforcements and ignoring the smack of the bullets into the ground around him.

Lord Lovat was with him -- Lord Lovat of Scotland, who calmly announced when he got to the bridge, ``Sorry I'm a few minutes late,'' as if he'd been delayed by a traffic jam, when in truth he'd just come from the bloody fighting on Sword Beach, which he and his men had just taken.

There was the impossible valor of the Poles who threw themselves between the enemy and the rest of Europe as the invasion took hold, and the unsurpassed courage of the Canadians who had already seen the horrors of war on this coast. They knew what awaited them there, but they would not be deterred. And once they hit Juno Beach, they never looked back.

All of these men were part of a rollcall of honor with names that spoke of a pride as bright as the colors they bore: the Royal Winnipeg Rifles, Poland's 24th Lancers, the Royal Scots Fusiliers, the Screaming Eagles, the Yeomen of England's armored divisions, the forces of Free France, the Coast Guard's ``Matchbox Fleet'' and you, the American Rangers.

Forty summers have passed since the battle that you fought here. You were young the day you took these cliffs; some of you were hardly more than boys, with the deepest joys of life before you. Yet, you risked everything here. Why? Why did you do it? What impelled you to put aside the instinct for self-preservation and risk your lives to take these cliffs? What inspired all the men of the armies that met here? We look at you, and somehow we know the answer. It was faith and belief; it was loyalty and love.

The men of Normandy had faith that what they were doing was right, faith that they fought for all humanity, faith that a just God would grant them mercy on this beachhead or on the next. It was the deep knowledge -- and pray God we have not lost it -- that there is a profound, moral difference between the use of force for liberation and the use of force for conquest. You were here to liberate, not to conquer, and so you and those others did not doubt your cause. And you were right not to doubt.

You all knew that some things are worth dying for. One's country is worth dying for, and democracy is worth dying for, because it's the most deeply honorable form of government ever devised by man. All of you loved liberty. All of you were willing to fight tyranny, and you knew the people of your countries were behind you.

The Americans who fought here that morning knew word of the invasion was spreading through the darkness back home. They fought -- or felt in their hearts, though they couldn't know in fact, that in Georgia they were filling the churches at 4 a.m., in Kansas they were kneeling on their porches and praying, and in Philadelphia they were ringing the Liberty Bell.

Something else helped the men of D-day: their rockhard belief that Providence would have a great hand in the events that would unfold here; that God was an ally in this great cause. And so, the night before the invasion, when Colonel Wolverton asked his parachute troops to kneel with him in prayer he told them: Do not bow your heads, but look up so you can see God and ask His blessing in what we're about to do. Also that night, General Matthew Ridgway on his cot, listening in the darkness for the promise God made to Joshua: ``I will not fail thee nor forsake thee.''

These are the things that impelled them; these are the things that shaped the unity of the Allies.

When the war was over, there were lives to be rebuilt and governments to be returned to the people. There were nations to be reborn. Above all, there was a new peace to be assured. These were huge and daunting tasks. But the Allies summoned strength from the faith, belief, loyalty, and love of those who fell here. They rebuilt a new Europe together.

There was first a great reconciliation among those who had been enemies, all of whom had suffered so greatly. The United States did its part, creating the Marshall plan to help rebuild our allies and our former enemies. The Marshall plan led to the Atlantic alliance -- a great alliance that serves to this day as our shield for freedom, for prosperity, and for peace.

In spite of our great efforts and successes, not all that followed the end of the war was happy or planned. Some liberated countries were lost. The great sadness of this loss echoes down to our own time in the streets of Warsaw, Prague, and East Berlin. Soviet troops that came to the center of this continent did not leave when peace came. They're still there, uninvited, unwanted, unyielding, almost 40 years after the war. Because of this, allied forces still stand on this continent. Today, as 40 years ago, our armies are here for only one purpose -- to protect and defend democracy. The only territories we hold are memorials like this one and graveyards where our heroes rest.

We in America have learned bitter lessons from two World Wars: It is better to be here ready to protect the peace, than to take blind shelter across the sea, rushing to respond only after freedom is lost. We've learned that isolationism never was and never will be an acceptable response to tyrannical governments with an expansionist intent.

But we try always to be prepared for peace; prepared to deter aggression; prepared to negotiate the reduction of arms; and, yes, prepared to reach out again in the spirit of reconciliation. In truth, there is no reconciliation we would welcome more than a reconciliation with the Soviet Union, so, together, we can lessen the risks of war, now and forever.

It's fitting to remember here the great losses also suffered by the Russian people during World War II: 20 million perished, a terrible price that testifies to all the world the necessity of ending war. I tell you from my heart that we in the United States do not want war. We want to wipe from the face of the Earth the terrible weapons that man now has in his hands. And I tell you, we are ready to seize that beachhead. We look for some sign from the Soviet Union that they are willing to move forward, that they share our desire and love for peace, and that they will give up the ways of conquest. There must be a changing there that will allow us to turn our hope into action.

We will pray forever that some day that changing will come. But for now, particularly today, it is good and fitting to renew our commitment to each other, to our freedom, and to the alliance that protects it.

We are bound today by what bound us 40 years ago, the same loyalties, traditions, and beliefs. We're bound by reality. The strength of America's allies is vital to the United States, and the American security guarantee is essential to the continued freedom of Europe's democracies. We were with you then; we are with you now. Your hopes are our hopes, and your destiny is our destiny.

Unfortunately, I have some sad news to report. As you may know, my last post chronicled my experience with Pfc James Coon, who was killed in Iraq by sniper fire a few years ago.

It seems that Pfc Coon's stepmother, overwhelmed with grief nearly 2 years after her stepson's death, committed suicide on Mothers Day so that she could be with her son in heaven.

This is another glaring example of the sacrifices our brave men and women's families have to endure as well. Marie Coon, rest in peace. May you finally find some peace with your stepson in heaven.

America is eternally grateful to both of you.

Memorial Day - A Time to Reflect

Memorial Day is a special day for this country. It is a day when we remember all the brave souls that gave all of what they had so that we can live free. Every time one of our servicemen or women are lost is a tragedy.

I had the distinct honor a few years ago to take part in an event that left a lasting impression on me, even to this day. A young soldier named Pfc James Coon that lived in Walnut Creek, California was killed in Iraq.

A group of motorcycle riders called the Patriot Guard Riders (www.patriotguard.org) had posted the news of his death on their website, and the slain soldiers family requested that the Patriot Guard provide an escort from the funeral home to the city park where the service would be held. I had been wanting to attend a Patriot Guard event, so I decided that this would be the one. I arrived at the funeral home early and joined up with the other 30 or so motorcyclists that had arrived to escort Pfc James Coon. It was a rainy and cold day. We escorted Pfc Coon to the City Park where a military funeral was held.

The original purpose of the Patriot Guard was to form a flag line to block the grieving families from any protesters that may be at the funeral. If there was a protest, the motorcyclists would fire up their bikes to drown out the protests.

There was no protest that day, so I stood straight and tall and held my American Flag. There were many moving speeches and kind words said about Pfc Coon. Something else that was seemingly insignificant at the time stood out to me as well. When they fired off the 21 gun salute, the citizens in the crowd jumped when every volley of fire was unleashed. Most of the people in the crowd had probably never fired a gun, let alone heard multiple guns at once.

I thought back to my dad, and his service in Vietnam, and Pfc Coon, and my Great Uncle Gene Moran, and realized how brave they really were. Brave enough, that under loud, imposing, relentless machine gun fire, they held their ground and protected their buddies. They thought clearly, and fought bravely under fire.

On Memorial Day, we must not just remember the soldiers that have died, but we must also remember those that lived. The soldiers that lived still had to bear the enormous weight of the horrors that they witnessed in war.

Memorial Day is a somber holiday. It should be a day of reflection and appreciation. We must teach our children that our freedom is fragile, and make them appreciate those that suffered and died to protect it.

After the service in the city park, we saddled up on our motorcycles to escort Pfc Coon back to the funeral home. This time, there was no police escort, no reporters, no crowds. When we arrived back at the funeral home, the director asked if we would like the honor of removing Pfc Coon's casket from the hearse. Of course, we all took our positions behind the hearse. With a stiff upper lip and a lump in my throat, we carried Pfc Coon back into the funeral home. I thanked him for his service, and promised him I would never forget what he had done.

I participated that day for a number of reasons. Probably the most important reason was for my father. I wanted my dad to understand that he had raised me to have respect and reverence for the military and this country, and that by honoring Pfc Coon, that I was honoring all our men and women that served.

I also wanted my father to know that I was there for Pfc Coon to make sure he had a respectful and honorable burial, protected from the anti-war nuts that my father had to endure when he returned from Vietnam. Last, but not least, I wanted Pfc Coon's family to see that their son did not die in vain, but rather with the respect and admiration of his country for what he had done for us.

Apparently, while Obama's mom was sifting through her long list of men that she had children with, she failed to pass this memo on to her son.

The joke last night by so-called comedian Wanda Sykes about wishing death on Rush Limbaugh, and Obama's unmitigated laughter was proof of his upbringing. He is tasteless, classless, and morally deficient. If he was a true leader, he would have gotten up and repudiated what Sykes said. However, this is a man that supports infantcide and terrorist Bill Ayers, so it is wrong to set our standards too high.

We have now reached the point where we have to question the validity of this man holding office. The people that were duped into voting for him need to realize they made an egregious error, and we need to begin the steps to correct this. I think a serious discussion needs to begin about impeachment.

Obama is an insult to people anywhere that have a shred of decency inside them, and it is clear he does not have the moral compass to lead this nation. The chickens ARE coming home to roost, and we will not recognize our country in four years unless we start dealing with this Imposter in Chief now.

There is a common misconception among conservatives that is hurting our party and more importantly, the well being and longevity of our country’s founding ideals. Many conservatives today subscribe to the notion that we should keep our beliefs to ourselves unless we are with other conservatives. This line of thinking is very harmful to our country and our way of life. We have a responsibility to our country and the Founding Fathers to continue to put forth the ideals that have rewarded this country with its greatness.

Our ideals and beliefs are under constant attack from the left. They have taken our positions and lampooned them, minimized them, and mocked them. We respond by remaining quiet and afraid to defend ourselves. There are many reasons that we have morphed into this silent majority. One of the reasons is political correctness and the fear of being labeled as a racist or a homophobic, as Miss California Carrie Prejean recently was for her comments against gay marriage.

Moshe Dyan once said, “If you want to make peace you don’t talk to your friends. You talk to your enemies.” Although this quote should be the battle cry for the conservative mantra, many people are unsure on how to accomplish this. Political discussions can often become heated and bring ill will between friends. Is a political argument even worth it? Of course it is. Your children and grandchildren’s future freedom depend on our ability to stand up for your beliefs right now.

First and foremost, pick up Mark Levin’s book, Liberty and Tyranny and read it from cover to cover. Mark Levin did the homework for today’s conservative. He has articulated our arguments into simple, easy to understand words that explore a variety of issues that the modern conservative should be concerned with. Once armed with this knowledge, it is time to confront the statist.

The primary objective when confronting the statist should not be to change their minds 180 degrees. Doing so will be an exercise in frustration and will quickly lead you to political burnout. Rather, we should strive to lessen the statists objections. We can do this by appealing to their common sense and not their emotions. For example, when the statist says that they support national healthcare, ask them some opened ended questions that will get them to think.

For example, Joe Statist says, “It is the government’s responsibility to provide health care to all its citizens.” A proper response from Joe RedState is as follows: “I agree that health care is important, but I have researched socialist health care in other nations and I am afraid that if I had a serious illness, I wouldntt be able to get the early treatment needed due to waiting lists.” Another powerful argument is, “Right now, we have the best and brightest doctors in America. I am afraid that if government is put in charge of paying them, we may lose a lot of good doctors to other professions because they won’t be able to earn as much.”

These are both non-confrontational arguments that should not provoke a hostile response, but it will get your opponent thinking. Watch the person’s body language and response. Do they cross their arms and look standoffish, or do they give you small signs of agreement? Use these clues to figure out how to move forward on the inroads that you just made.

Many times, the statist will become hostile. While arguments are never comfortable, it is important not to give in and concede defeat. Doing so hurts the cause; remember it is every conservative’s duty to ensure the Founding Father’s ideals are protected.

Most modern statists are that way because of emotional reasons. Statists often depend on the MSM for their news, and are not educated to the real objectives of the current administration. They do not realize that grandma will not get a hip replacement under socialized health care because she is too old. They do not realize that amnesty for illegals is only being done to solidify a statist voting block. They are uniformed, and that is very dangerous to freedom. Lenin had a word for these people. The term is useful idiots, and today’s MSM and average liberal fit the bill.

With today’s flip of Arlen Specter to the democrats, we are in danger of a legislative branch that is filibuster proof. Without educating those around us, we could be in grave danger of losing this country for good. It is a frightening prospect that was foreseen by Ayn Rand and George Orwell. America’s forefathers suffered greatly to create the Republic we have today. It is time for regular Americans to put aside their laziness and apathy and continue the fight.

Not Seeing Clearly – 20/20’s Gun Hit Piece

The previews for ABC’s 20/20 gun hit piece, “If I Only Had a Gun”, had been running all week long. I had a general idea on what to expect, especially coming from ABC, but in preparation for my rebuttal, I set my TiVo to record the show for an in-depth analysis.

At the show’s outset, ABC’s Diane Sawyer stated “This is not a debate about the right to own a gun in America.” She was partly right. Instead, it was a debate to convince Americans not to own a gun by using the same tired examples that the MSM uses to advocate more gun control.

The premise of this show was to conduct a series of “experiments” to show how an average college student would react if a gunman entered their lecture hall and started firing at people. The “shooter” was a police firearms training officer, and the students were chosen from a group of people that were promised gun safety classes by the college. The gun used was a semiautomatic Glock pistol that used paint pellets instead of live rounds. As expected, ABC demonstrated that none of the students were able to neutralize the threat before being shot themselves. In a classic case of yellow journalism, they showed the “victims” fumbling for their guns, missing the target completely, freezing in fear, or almost shooting their fellow classmates.

Unfortunately, any objectivity to this experiment was probably left on the cutting room floor. In each case, you could see the police training officer singling out the student that was chosen to wear the gun for that segment and directing his fire towards them. In a real life situation the shooter would have no idea who was armed. The fact is that no one knows how they would react in a situation like this no matter how much training they have. A person with a gun would at least have a fighting chance of neutralizing the threat and saving lives. Unfortunately, because of the statist’s obsession with gun free schools and workplaces, we have only few real life examples where this has worked. The examples we do have are quickly covered up or ignored by the MSM.

The other segments aired by 20/20 showed high school students demonstrating unsafe gun handling skills which included looking down the barrel of a gun and pointing it in an unsafe manner. Clearly, these kids missed out on the safe gun handling skills that I was taught at a very young age by my father. In addition, even with a lack of safe gun handling training, these kids exhibited very poor levels of common sense. That is the fault of their parents, not the guns.

I fired my first shotgun by the time I was 10 years old. I had safe gun handling skills taught to me by my father and grandfather, and I was raised by my parents to think clearly, even under pressure. I remember one example of this in particular.

During one deer hunting season, I was standing with my grandfather and cousin, getting ready to leave the woods for lunch. My grandfather noticed a buck trotting towards us and all three of us took aim. Now, anyone with hunting experience knows the level of adrenaline that starts flowing when you see game. We all fired repeatedly; a sound that my dad, over in the next valley, compared to firefights he had experienced in Vietnam.

In the midst of the shooting, I had to move my gun, pointing the muzzle in a safe direction, around my grandfather and back to the deer. Under pressure, with loud noise and adrenaline flowing, with high powered weapons, and no formal “police training”, we took the deer without any accidents. I am far from an extraordinary person, and I am guessing that even under pressure most Americans could think clearly and respond effectively and safely. Of course the deer wasn’t shooting back at us, but I have to believe that the adrenaline surge and noise would be somewhat similar to those experienced in a mass shooting incident.

The MSM, working in cohesion with the statists in Government, have again missed the point completely. Time and again, they try to blame a tool for societal ills instead of the actual cause. Where is the blame for the news outlets that give these shootings uninterrupted coverage, possibly spawning copycats? Where is the blame for the parents and their failure to teach their children basic common sense? How about Hollywood, whom continually glorifies violence and death? What about Damon Weaver, the 10 year old boy from Pahokee, Florida that 20/20 exploited for their anti-gun agenda? Where is Damon’s father? Who taught Damon that it was Obama’s job to “do something” for his town like he asked for on 20/20?

As rational people, we must realize that these attempts to demonize guns and gun owners only serve one purpose; disarmament of America. At the root of all these debates and experiments is government’s realization that with an armed citizenry, they cannot grab complete power and control. Alan Eppers once said “Dangerous laws created by well intentioned people today can be used by dangerous people with evil intentions tomorrow.” Our current place in history is already tomorrow. We must remain well informed and vigilant, and teach others the truth if we are to preserve our American way of life.

Did anyone hear about the huge power outage in the San Francisco Bay Area yesterday? They have admitted it was sabotage, but they are failing to link it to terrorism. A main Fiber Optic cable was cut, disabling hundreds of thousands of people near San Jose, CA. 911 calls were unable to get through. Businesses closed. ATM's stopped functioning. These Fiber Optic lines were accessed through a manhole cover.

If this was in fact a test for a future attack, America will be brought to her knees if this is done on a country-wide basis. We will be placed under martial law. I do not have any advice on how to stop this. You can bet the Obama administration will deny that this is done by Islamic terrorists. Keep some food and water stocked up in your home. America is in big trouble. Our enemies are emboldened, our President is bowing to the Saudi King, and Iran is a few months away from a nuclear weapon. Israel is in danger of a another holocaust. What can average Americans do? Here is a short list:

Attend the nationwide Tea Parties on April 15th
Stock up on guns and ammo. Not only does Obama want to ban them, there are increasing signs that civil unrest may be on the horizon.
Connect with other conservatives via the new media: Twitter, Facebook, blogs.
Start educating moderate democrats on the danger Obama poses; use the old fashioned art of asking them questions about their core beliefs, and relating them to what Obama stands for.
Call your senators and congress critters. Let them know if they do not stand up to Obama, you will not vote for them when their term is up.

These are frightening times to be an American. Like many others, I am scared to death of losing this great country. The time to act is now. God Bless America.

"We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

The above quotation are Obama's words at a July 2nd, 2008 campaign stop in Colorado. What exactly does this "community agitator" have in mind for this country? On the surface, this seems like a fairly innocuous plan to organize a network of volunteers.

However, after watching the first 50 days of this radical in power, and the slew of executive orders enacted to fast-track his policy, I believe that this proclamation deserves a closer scrutiny.

It is no secret that Obama plans to run in campaign mode for the next four years. It is a technique that was perfected by the Clinton's, and it is effective for gathering public support for new initiatives. With the old Clinton hack Rahm Emanuel at the helm, we can be assured that he will be up to his old tricks in the Obama administration.

It is also no secret that Obama is much further to the left than Clinton. To better understand what Obama has planned, we have to take a trip back in history to another socialist that gained power when a country was in the midst of economic hardship.

Adolph Hitler was the head of the National Socialist Party in Germany in the 1930's. Although the liberal media tries to paint today's right-wing as Nazi's, the actual truth is that Hitler has more in common with Obama than he does with Timothy McVeigh.

Hitler knew that to have a dictatorship, you had to have 3 things. You had to have one person and one party in power, a climate of fear, and a means to discourage dissent.

We can see the parallels in the United States today. We have a far left president in power, backed by a liberal Senate majority. The current fear is the failing economy. In addition, you have a President that has signed a large number of Executive orders in his 50 days in office.

Obama shows no signs of moving towards the center. It is clear that his plan for a Civilian National Security Force is at best, an organized, nationwide collection of community agitators, and at worse, government jackboots that are organized to squash any dissent or protest against the administration.

If enacted, the Security Force will appear harmless at first, and will probably use incremental steps to fulfill a more sinister role in Obama's quest for socialism and absolute power. My hope is that the American people would never let this happen, but desperate times make a desperate people. His promise of government handouts and care from cradle to grave is a enticing offer for many in this country. It is my thought that he would have no problem finding street thugs to do his bidding for him. "It can't happen here" is a phrase we need removed from our collective psyche if we are to avoid any nefarious plots by this "Messiah".

Unfortunately, the tragedy of the Alabama massacre by Michael McLendon sent the Mainstream media on a frenzy to demonize the "assault rifle" that took so many innocent lives. While this is an absolute tragedy and we mourn for those lives lost, it is reckless and irresponsible to blame this on the gun.

The Mainstream media was out in full force to let everyone know that it was an evil assault weapon that was responsible for this horrific act. On the way to work the other morning, I had to ask my wife if the ABC news commentator actually paused to utter the words "Assault Weapon" mid-story. She confirmed that he did in fact make a concerted effort to say "Assault Weapon" as many times as he could fit it into a 2 minute news blurb.

I find this entirely ironic. Who is responsible for these people that snap and kill so many innocents? I believe the blame falls clearly on the shoulders of a few select groups in our society.

The first blame should go out to the liberal establishment. For years, you have made it impossible for normal people to express their anger or dissatisfaction with the everyday things life throws at us. You have used political correctness as a muzzle; and that muzzle chokes out our basic human need to express emotions when we are upset or disgruntled. Instead, we have been taught that we have to hold our feelings in as not to offend anyone. When they finally do erupt in certain people, something horrendous happens like we just saw in Alabama.

The next helping of blame goes to a liberal activist group, otherwise known as our nations public schools. It is interesting to note Michael McLendon's age. He was 28; which means he was born in 1980. Michael McLendon grew up right at the beginning of the anti-gun era spawned by the Brady Campaign and other anti-gun politicians. How is this a factor?

I was born in 1975. When I was in grade school, little boys could still be little boys. I had an arsenal of toy guns that looked like real guns and we brought them to school. We played cops and robbers in the neighborhood and on the playground. We were not suspended or expelled for drawing a picture of a gun, or using our fingers to make a pretend gun.

Although there were a few mass shootings prior to the mid 90's, they began in earnest with the generation after mine. This generation grew up with guns demonized for their entire childhood. In addition, this decade was the beginning of a huge uptick in extreme violence out of Hollywood, and extremely violent video games that were mass marketed to teenagers. Coupled with the decreasing involvement of the family, we were presented with the situation we are in today.

There is a solution. America needs to stand up and repudiate these forces that have left our country in the state that it currently is. We need to stop buying the violence and gore that comes out of Hollywood. We need to elect school boards and hire superintendents to our public schools that understand the danger we are creating by forcing students to repress their normal tendencies to express themselves. We need to let our children act with emotion instead of pumping them full of Ritalin. Finally, we need to re-invest ourselves in our families and our children and provide a nurturing outlet for them to grow up as normal, balanced adults. When this happens, these mass killings will subside.

Vigilance Against Obama's Embryonic Genocide

We often hear a lot of different justifications from liberals on why we should permit abortions, or support embryonic stem cell research. Liberal reasoning varies depending on the topic; for abortion, it is necessary for the woman's "Right to Choose" what happens to her body. With embryonic stem cell research, they parade celebrities and scientists in front of the public and tell us how necessary it is to do this research to "save lives".

This is typical, feel good liberal logic that passes muster with most of their constituents. The reason for this widespread acceptance is two-fold.

First, most honest (albeit naive) people find it hard to imagine evil. Most law-abiding, God fearing people regardless of political party find it hard to understand that certain people are capable of heinous acts.

Secondly, many people are not well read in this world's history and think that the genocides that have happened in the past are incapable of happening in this day and age. They do not subscribe to the logic that those that do not remember history are doomed to repeat it.

William Ayers group, Weather Underground stated that bombings against the government and killing innocent civilians were morally acceptable if they were used to achieve their end means of communism.

Ayers and the Weather Underground enumerated dozens of different grievances as the rationales for their bombings -- their end goal being to inspire a violent mass uprising against the United States government in order to establish a communist "dictatorship of the proletariat," in Ayers' own words.

Joesph Stalin systematically murdered 20 million people in the Soviet Union in order to "serve the needs of the state". Adolf Hitler murdered millions of Jews to further his political agenda while making his actions seem reasonable to the German people.

Socialists in America have been trying to condition the people to accept abortion and now embryonic stem cell research as necessary for the common good. With the support of the mainstream media and the constant ridicule of the pro-life crowd, they have made many inroads.

I fear what this will eventually lead us to. With the extremists like William Ayers in Obama's inner circle, it is hard to dismiss the fact that they may have evil ulterior motives. History shows that personable and seemingly honorable men will do horrific acts in the name of the "common good." If we don't recognize the capability man has for evil, it may be too late to stop a modern day extermination to fulfill a diabolical political agenda right here in America.

Conservatives must maintain a constant vigilance and continue to stand up to the socialists distorted view of morality. With this radical regime in power, it is our duty and calling as patriots to prevent any future and current genocide from happening here.

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Pentagon charged Monday that five Chinese ships shadowed and maneuvered dangerously close to a U.S. Navy vessel in an apparent attempt to harass the American crew.
Defense officials in the Obama administration said the incident Sunday followed several days of "increasingly aggressive" acts by Chinese ships in the region. The incident took place in international waters in the South China Sea, about 75 miles south of Hainan Island.

As the DOW dips lower, I have been frantically searching the Internet for a glimmer of good news. However, with Obama at the helm and our country on the brink all I keep finding is the bad news. On Drudge yesterday, there was a seemingly innocuous story that 50,000 people in New York City were protesting budget cuts.

As I read the story, written by CBS's Hazel Sanchez, I learned that labor groups, community agitators, and more likely than not, ACORN was out in full force. They were asking for "Fair Tax Reform", which in "Obamaspeak" means another generous handout from Joe Taxpayer. They demanded that taxpayers making over $250,000 a year accept a tax increase to support their lack of desire or inability to take care of themselves.

Wealth distribution as a general principle annoys me, but as I read more of this article, I realized how this economic downturn in America is going to get alot worse.

As the country's economy falls further down the latrine, we are going to see more and more of these protests. The poor will be protesting the rich, and the culmination of Obama's class warfare will be brought to bear. To better illustrate this, we need to go back and look at Obama's past.

The man that used to have a Che Guevara poster on his wall knows that in order to seize total power, he needs to create chaos. He is good buddies with William Ayers, a renown, unrepentant terrorist that states to this day he felt using explosives against the Federal government was justified. Like all good socialist dictators before him, and with Saul Alinsky's guide to "Socialism for Dummies" in his hands, we can expect Obama to escalate this class warfare and these protests against the "rich" to his advantage.

As the unemployment numbers rise and the stock market falls, look for more agressive media coverage of these "protests". Based on the protests we had recently in Oakland, CA against the police who shot an unarmed black man, look for these protests to turn increasingly violent. Every good socialist authoritarian needs his Reichstag, and Obama is no different. When the timing is right, this radical in the White House will use the economic chaos to force more extreme policy down the throats of Americans.

Like many of you out there, I am deeply frightened about the path that the country is headed down. We have in power a group of individuals that are seemingly intent on destroying the very basis of this country. They are attempting to solidify their power and remake our great Republic into some European based socialist non-superpower.

The most frightening part about this is that most Americans feel powerless to stop this. This is no accident. Socialism is not something that can be sprung on a culture overnight. It is something that is methodically and slowly woven into the fabric of a culture over time, with the objective being that by the time it is brought to bear, it seems like the only ideology that is acceptable. The left has had many teachers such as Stalin, Lenin, Castro, and most recently, Chavez. Liberals have embraced the teachings of Saul Alinsky, and have embedded themselves in this country’s great institutions. Taking our country back will not be easy, but it can be done.

The left has employed many weapons in its battle to destroy America. One of the most prominent weapons has been Political Correctness. Political Correctness is used primarily by the left to silence its critics. Recently, I had some political discussions with a family member about why the Messiah Obama was wrong for this country.

My liberal left family member, without any non-emotional based arguments, immediately tried to brand me as a racist. This tactic is used often by far left figures such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, and in the past few decades, has been used effectively to silence critics as no one wants to be branded as racist. We can no longer allow them to use this attack.

When a leftist tries to use this argument, remind them that liberals, not conservatives are the racists. Liberals have used race in this country as a tool to divide America for too long. Their failed policies to “help” poor blacks and Hispanics have only doomed them to broken families and dependence on welfare.

We have to get in the face of liberals and tell them the only racists left are them, as they constantly bring up race as a divisive issue. Most Americans have long forgotten about this country’s racial strife, and we successfully function as a colorblind society.

Another decisive issue is gay marriage. In California, we cannot turn on TV without seeing a news story about Proposition 8, which passed in November banning gay marriage. There are two important things to remember here.

First and foremost, the vast majority of conservatives including myself support the right for gays and lesbians to do whatever they want. We recognize this is a free country, and you are free to sleep with the person of your choosing. Marriage, however, is for the procreation of children; nothing more, nothing less. It says so in the bible, and the bible is what this country is founded on. We support civil unions and equal benefits for you and your partner. The left will always try to invoke political correctness and try to minimize dissent on this issue by calling you a homophobe if you don’t agree. Don’t let this tactic work on you.

Secondly, remind the liberals that socialists in Cuba and the Soviet Union would imprison homosexuals for no other reason but their sexual orientation. The gay marriage debate is a further attempt by the left to destroy the traditional family and one of the foundations of our country.

Most of the pro-gay marriage protests you see are organized by communist front groups such as ANSWER and ACORN. Stand up for what you believe in and let your gay friends know that you support their Constitutional rights, and that the left is just using them for their own political gain.

The abortion debate often invokes volatile feelings for both the pro-life and pro-choice sides. Somehow, the media has conditioned us to believe that this is a hot button issue that shouldn’t be discussed. That is the wrong attitude for conservatives, and has further allowed the left to minimize the pro-life argument.

The country has a serious problem with this issue, and we have to look no further than Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. Her Catholicism and rabid support of abortion creates a huge conflict of interest for conservatives. Furthermore, the Catholic Church’s refusal to publicly refuse communion to these pro-choice politicians furthers their far left agenda and hurts the conservative movement.

I have a solution for this. I would like to call for all conservative Catholics to refuse to donate to their church for a period of one month starting now. Instead of putting a check in the offering plate, put a note in there that says until these vile, baby killing politicians are publicly repudiated, they will not see another cent from you.

Last week, I saw our Vice President Joe Biden on TV with the black mark on his forehead from Ash Wednesday and it infuriated me. His policies regarding the unborn are not what any conservative American or good Catholic should support, and until we stand up to this, the left will continue its stranglehold on our traditions.

Make it clear to the Vatican: Excommunicate the abortionists or find another source of income.

In less than 300 years, America has risen from a land of 13 colonies to the most powerful superpower in the world. We have been lulled into a false sense of security because of this, and we have made ourselves an easy target for a socialist revolution.

Now, many Americans feel hopeless and scared, and we are left scratching our heads on how this happened so quickly and seemingly, under our noses. Our enemy is smart. They have made the average American unwilling to speak out or express their beliefs because of political correctness. They have invaded our media and universities and espoused hate and disdain for this great nation. They have slowly broken us down, but we can fight back.

We can remind liberals that in the words of Vladimir Lenin, they are this administrations “useful idiots”. Remind them that gun control, global warming, excessive taxation, and political correctness is not for the common good, but rather to give these socialists absolute power and total control over our lives.

We can remind our fellow Americans that this country is great because it provides the freedom for anybody with the drive and desire to achieve whatever they want. We can tell our fellow citizens to open a history book and learn how socialism has failed everywhere it has been tried because it crushes the human spirit.
